We’re excited to announce the successful commissioning of a DALUM CO₂ Recovery Plant at Lost & Grounded Brewers in Bristol! Our Lead Service Engineer, Leif Rossau, together with Commissioner Steffen Falk, visited the brewery to ensure a smooth installation and startup of the system.
This cutting-edge solution will allow Lost & Grounded to efficiently capture, purify, and reuse its own CO₂, helping to reduce operational costs and environmental impact while advancing their commitment to sustainable brewing. Lost & Grounded Brewers, established in 2016 in Bristol, doesn’t only make amazing beer, but they also take great pride in supporting their local community. Since they opened they have been a Living Wage Foundation Employer, and they support the everyone welcome initiative to create a safe space for their customers as well as their team. Now, with their DALUM CO₂ Recovery Plant they are once again taking responsibility, to make the world a better place.
This CO₂ Recovery Plant has a special story. It originally played a key role in supporting Brixton Brewery’s rapid growth and sustainability efforts attheir main brewery in South London. As the brewery scaled up and transitioned the majority of production to a state-of-the-art facility in Enfield, they ensured that this trusted piece of equipment would continue making a positive impact. Rather than retiring it, they found it a new home – so it could keep doing what it does best: capturing carbon and reducing waste.

Brixton Brewery’s journey is the story of a local favorite turned national success. What began in 2013 in a single railway arch on Brixton Station Road quickly became a staple of the London craft beer scene. With growing popularity and demand, Brixton Brewery expanded operations, investing in sustainable technologies such as our DALUM CO₂ Recovery Plant to minimize their environmental impact while keeping up with thirsty fans.
But growth sometimes means tough decisions. Brixton’s production site on Dylan Road reached its limits, there was simply no more room to expand. With their lease expiring and demand for Brixton’s award-winning beers higher than ever, the team made the strategic decision to relocate most production to a state-of-the-art brewery in Enfield, North London, alongside industry leaders like Beavertown Brewery. This new facility boasts some of the highest efficiency and sustainability standards in the UK, further strengthening Brixton’s commitment to responsible brewing.
As Brixton Brewery transitions to their new site, they’ve ensured their beloved CO₂ Recovery Plant found a new home where it could continue making a difference. We’re thrilled that Lost & Grounded Brewers, a fellow champion of independent and sustainable craft beer, acquired the plant to further their own green brewing mission.
At DALUM, we’re proud that our CO₂ Recovery technology can play a small role in the journeys of two such innovative breweries. For Brixton, it was a tool that helped reduce their carbon footprint and enhance operational efficiency during a critical phase of growth. Now, at Lost & Grounded, the plant will continue to capture, purify, and reuse CO₂ from fermentation, supporting a more circular and environmentally responsible brewing process.
Both Brixton and Lost & Grounded exemplify the best of what craft breweries can achieve – sustainable growth, strong community roots, and a relentless commitment to quality.

Rather than retiring the equipment when Brixton expanded, the plant found a new home at Lost & Grounded Brewers in Bristol, where it will continue its mission of sustainability and efficiency.
By capturing and reusing CO₂ generated during beer production, Lost & Grounded can significantly lower its CO₂ emissions, reduce costs associated with purchasing commercial CO₂, and advance their commitment to sustainable brewing. It also demonstrates leadership in environmental responsibility within the brewing community.
Originally installed at Brixton Brewery to support rapid growth and minimize environmental impact, the plant was relocated when Brixton moved production. Lost & Grounded Brewers, known for their quality beer and commitment to community and sustainability, acquired the plant to further enhance their own green brewing operations.
