Cylinder Filling for Excess CO2 at Stewart Brewing

Stewart Brewing is to Sell Excess CO2 from Fermentation

Kim Dalum, CEO and Founder, recently visited Stewart Brewing in Scotland to install their new cylinder filling station. This will allow them to store ~10 tonnes of excess liquid CO2 produced from their beer production in cylinders. Instead of venting this CO2, it can now be sold and distributed to draft customers and other local businesses.

Since installing their two DALUM Plants in 2022 and 2023, Stewart has been fully self-sufficient and recovered more than 100,000 kg of CO2. They’re currently recovering ~45 tonnes of natural CO2 annually, which saves an impressive 70 tonnes of emissions each year by eliminating the need for industrial CO2 supply and transport.

A big thank you to Sam Russell, Production Manager at Stewart Brewing, and the rest of the Stewart team who has been a big part of this project from the beginning.

DALUM now offers cylinder filling stations for customers with an excess production of CO2. 80% of our customers are self-sufficient, with several of them producing enough beverage grade CO2 to store in cylinders.
