At DALUM Beverage Equipment, we are proud to announce the installation and start-up of our first CO₂ Recovery Plant in Switzerland. The system is now operating at La Nébuleuse in Renens. This project marks an important step in our mission to help breweries become more sustainable, independent, and circular. The system includes a 1-ton CO₂ storage tank, an automatic foam trap and CO₂ collection system. The system also includes a DALUM Cylinder Filler.
Turning Carbon Emissions into a Resource
Every week, La Nébuleuse’s craft beer production generates over 800 kg of CO₂ during fermentation. In the past, this valuable resource would simply escape into the atmosphere. Now, with our CO₂ Recovery Plant, the gas is captured, filtered, purified, and stored. Breweries can reuse it in their own processes or supply it to local businesses.
As a result, more than 36 tons of CO₂ will be recovered and reused each year. This reduces the brewery’s carbon footprint and opens new opportunities for local business collaboration.
Collaboration Made it Possible
- La Nébuleuse Brewery: Leading the way in local, sustainable brewing.
- Circea SA: Our trusted distributor and now owner and operator of the plant.
- DALUM Beverage Equipment: System supplier and technical partner.
- Local innovation organizations: Including SPEI (Service de la promotion de l’économie et de l’innovation, Canton de Vaud) and Viva-Vaud.
This success is the result of strong teamwork and dedication:
We want to give special thanks to Jean-Valentin de Saussure and Kouros Ghavami at Circea SA. Their commitment and expertise allowed the installation to go live in just three days. Our founder Kim Christian Dalum and Kirsten Dalum were on site to help commission the plant. This ensured a smooth and rapid startup.
Brewing for a Greener Future
At DALUM, we believe every brewery should have the chance to capture and reuse their own CO₂. This helps the planet and strengthens the business. The project at La Nébuleuse shows how technology, strong partnerships, and a shared focus on sustainability create real impact.
Congratulations to everyone who made circular CO₂ management a reality in Switzerland!
