Camba Bavaria Pioneers Remote CO₂ Recovery in Craft Brewing
Camba Bavaria, a leader in innovative Bavarian brewing, has successfully commissioned a DALUM Senior CO₂ Recovery Plant, entirely remotely. This milestone marks DALUM’s first-ever remote installation and helps Camba become CO₂ self-sufficient.
As production grew by 30% in 2024, the brewery upgraded to the 30 kg/h Senior model to meet rising demand for sustainable CO₂. Camba had previously used a DALUM Craft Plant, recovering over 90 metric tonnes of CO₂ in just 18 months.
The new recovery system captures natural CO₂ from fermentation and purifies it to beverage-grade standards. It removes impurities like DMS, alcohols, and ammonia, resulting in ultra-pure CO₂ with less than 0.1 ppm of oxygen, perfect for beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
By using DALUM’s smart dashboard and remote support tools, Camba Bavaria was able to commission the system without on-site engineers. This not only lowers operational costs but also strengthens independence and sustainability.
Today, eight Bavarian breweries use DALUM’s CO₂ recovery technology. Camba Bavaria’s investment is a shining example of how CO₂ recovery in craft brewing leads to better efficiency, lower emissions, and a greener future.
Frequently Asked Questions:
It’s DALUM’s first fully remote commissioning of a Senior model and one of the first Senior units in operation globally.
Due to 30% production growth in 2024, they needed a higher-capacity system. They upgraded from a 15 kg/h Craft Plant to a 30 kg/h Senior Plant to support self-sufficiency and operational efficiency.
It’s designed for breweries producing 25,000–50,000 hl/year. Their previous unit recovered 90 tonnes of CO₂ in 18 months
-Reduces dependency on industrial CO₂
-Cuts emissions from CO₂ transport and production
-Aligns with the German Reinheitsgebot and beverage-grade purity standards
-Saves operation costs
Currently, eight Bavarian craft breweries use DALUM recovery plants to achieve similar operational and environmental benefits.
